How do I make a QR code?

Goal

Have Nova turn an address or a text into a QR code image.

Before you start

• AI access is set up.

Steps

1. Say or type at the avatar what goes into the code. For example an address or a short text.
2. Without a text of your own, Nova takes what is on the clipboard. If you say you mean the selection, Nova takes the selected text.
3. Nova saves the image as a PNG in Downloads. The name starts with QR-, followed by the start of the content and the time.
4. The image is then also on the clipboard. The Mac opens it in the app set for PNG files.
5. There is no card for this. Nova only creates the new file and overwrites none.
6. The other way round works in the clipboard: pick an image with a QR code, then Copy text from QR code. The text is then on the clipboard. How to open it is in How do I open the clipboard and search it?

Common problems

• More than 2000 characters do not fit. Nova then says the text is too long.
• If the clipboard is empty and you give no text, no code is made.
• The Mac draws the code itself. Your sentence still goes to the chosen AI provider, like any request.
