This page names the binaries and runtimes Nova ships, and the open-source libraries in the app package. Libraries those libraries use are not all named.

Nova

Nova is not open source. Christoph owns Nova, the name, and this site, except for other people’s rights. The licenses below apply only to the parts named.

In the app

Nova ships ffmpeg. ffmpeg runs as its own process. It is not built into Nova. Those builds are GPL-3.0 or later. The binary comes from ffmpeg-static. ffmpeg source: ffmpeg.org. License: GNU GPL 3.0.

Nova is built with Electron. Electron is MIT. Chromium, which comes with Electron, has its own notices from the Electron project. Electron license: MIT.

The wake word uses OpenWakeWord (Apache-2.0) and ONNX Runtime (MIT) to run the model on the Mac.

This website

This site uses the fonts already on your Mac or in your browser. It does not load typefaces from another company’s font server.
