How do I run a Raycast command by voice?
Goal
Start a Raycast command by saying its name at the avatar.
Before you start
- Raycast is installed on this Mac.
- AI access is set up.
- Expert view. The switch is in How do I switch between Simple and Expert?
Steps
- Settings, Actions & workflows, the Raycast tab. The page is in Expert view.
- Card Installed extensions (bridge). The box Offer installed Raycast extensions as commands automatically is checked by default. Nova then reads your installed extensions, read only, and shows the number: “… commands from installed extensions”.
- Use the field below to check whether a command is there. A word such as speedtest is enough.
- A name of your own goes in the card Raycast commands, field Command list. One line: Name = Deeplink. Get the deeplink in Raycast: pick the command, ⌘K, Copy Deeplink.
- Blocked extensions takes one extension per line, by name or title. Nova does not start those commands.
- Say the name at the avatar. The word Raycast is optional.
- Nova starts the command without a card. That is why it only starts what is in these two cards, and never makes up a link.
Example
“Maximize window.” — “Start speedtest.”
Common problems
- Above the search field it says Raycast not found. Nova looks for Raycast in /Applications and ~/Applications.
- Nova does not know the command. It is neither in the Command list nor among the installed extensions, or its extension is blocked.
- The Command list only accepts links that start with raycast:// or raycast-x://.
- A newly installed extension is missing. Nova reads the extensions again when their folder changes, otherwise after five minutes at most.
