How do I add my home to Nova?
Goal
Enter your home address so Nova opens the route home when you ask.
Before you start
- Expert view. The switch is in How do I switch between Simple and Expert?
- AI access is set up.
Steps
- Settings, Profile & family, the Maps & home tab. The card is Routes.
- Enter the address in the Home address field, with street, postcode, and town. Nova stores it on this Mac only.
- Under Maps app, choose Apple Maps or Google Maps (browser).
- Say “route home” at the avatar. Nova opens the maps app with your home address as the destination. Nova does not pass a starting point.
- Without more, Nova plans by car. Say “by public transport” or “on foot” if you travel another way.
- Other destinations work without a home address too, for example “How do I get to Bern station?”.
- There is no card. Nova opens the route directly. With Google Maps (browser), the address is part of the page the browser loads from Google.
Example
“Route home.” — “How do I get home on foot?”
Common problems
- Without a home address, Nova says none is stored and opens nothing.
- Simple does not show the tab. Search finds it with home or home address under “In Expert view”.
- The home address is only for routes. Weather and the briefing do not use it.
