How do I connect Morgen?

Goal

Read events and tasks from Morgen in Nova, and create new ones only after the card.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Settings, Apps & services. Type Morgen in Search for a service… and tap the Morgen row. The card is called Morgen (morgen.so).
  2. Tick Morgen API on. Without this box Nova does not query Morgen, even with a key.
  3. Enter the key in the API key (optional) field. The field shows platform.morgen.so → Developers API. Test connection saves the key. Below it, Nova shows how many calendars are visible.
  4. Press Load Morgen calendars. Nova lists the calendars from Morgen. One box per calendar to read it, at most 8. Writable calendars also show Create events.
  5. Default calendar (Morgen events) sets where a new event goes. Without a choice, (First write calendar) applies.
  6. Colleagues’ calendars get a short name under Morgen calendar aliases (colleague names). How that works is in How do I give a calendar a short name?
  7. Include in day plan adds open Morgen tasks to the day plan.
  8. Ask the avatar about events or tasks. A new event comes as the card Create event, a new task as the card Create Morgen task. Confirm writes to Morgen, Dismiss writes nothing.

Example

“What’s on in Morgen this week?” Then: “Add a Morgen task called Send quote.” Look at the card and Dismiss if you were only trying it out.

Common problems

  • Connected in the list only means a key is set. Without Morgen API on, Morgen stays off for Nova.
  • If Nova says Morgen gives no access, your Morgen plan may lack API access.
  • The Morgen API does not list empty folders. For such a folder, enter a name and the ID under Task-list aliases (name = taskListId). The ID is in a task from that folder.
  • The card has no box of its own against cloud AI. Morgen belongs to the class Confidential (work), see How does an answer stay on this Mac?
