Nova Assistant — End User License Agreement (EULA)
Last updated: September 2026
Please read this agreement before you download, install, or use Nova Assistant. By using the software you agree to this End User License Agreement (“Agreement”). At Polar checkout you should also agree to the version linked that day. The date is at the top. You can save or print this page.
Who the parties are
The licensor is Christoph Schumann, Herbstweg 31, 8050 Zürich, Switzerland. You are the licensee — the person who buys or uses Nova. Polar Software, Inc. (USA) is the merchant of record and the seller. The purchase is between you and Polar. Christoph stays the provider and licensor of Nova. “We” and “us” in this text means Christoph Schumann.
Language
Each language on this site is meant to be readable. The German text is the one we wrote first. If a translation differs, write to hello@nova-assistant.io — we will fix it. A gap in the translation does not take away rights you have.
What this is
These terms cover using Nova on a Mac. Swiss law applies. EU consumers keep rights that cannot be waived.
Age
You must be 18, or a parent or guardian must have given valid consent.
License
Christoph grants you a limited, non-exclusive licence to install Nova on one Apple Silicon Mac (M1 and later) that you own or control. The software stays with Christoph. This is not a sale of the code. The plan you pick at Polar is monthly, yearly, or lifetime. Monthly and yearly last while Polar says the subscription is active; you can stop at any time. Polar charges every month or every year until you cancel. Lifetime is one payment; we have not set an end date. One licence is for one Mac. A second Mac needs a second licence. You may move the licence to another Apple Silicon Mac you own or control; then it no longer counts on the old one. Do not share the key. Do not let other people use your licence as theirs. You may use Nova privately or for work. The seven-day trial is free; these terms apply there too.
Ownership and third-party software
Nova, the name, this website, and the materials we made stay with Christoph, except for other people’s rights. You get the licence in these terms — not the code. Do not copy, change, or pass on Nova except as the law or a written agreement with Christoph allows. Parts named on the licenses page follow their own licenses. These terms do not take away rights those licenses give you.
Start and end
The licence starts when Polar confirms the purchase, or when the seven-day trial starts. Monthly and yearly end when Polar ends the subscription — Polar’s buyer terms say when billing stops. Lifetime has no end date. If you break the law, harm others, or share keys, we may stop the licence at once. For other breaches we write first and give 14 days to fix it. After it ends: stop using the paid app; the key no longer counts. Your files, mail, and calendar stay on your Mac.
The product
Apple Silicon. You confirm before Nova writes. We do not promise every answer is right. That is why you confirm the card when it matters. That sentence does not cancel what the product page actually says.
Purchases
Polar Software, Inc. (USA) is the merchant of record and the seller. Billing, tax, cancellation, and refunds are Polar’s. Polar’s buyer terms cover that. Polar also handles the practical withdrawal. For EU consumers, the right to withdraw from software that starts at once only ends early if checkout has the required consents — you agree to start at once and you confirm you lose the right. That has to be in Polar’s checkout, not only on this page. These terms cover the licence to use Nova. At Polar checkout you should also agree to the version of this page linked that day.
Your stuff
Your files, mail, calendar, and prompts stay yours. You are responsible for what you ask Nova to do. We don’t need a licence to your everyday content to run the app on your Mac.
Keys and accounts
You bring your own keys and connected accounts. Their terms apply too. Tokens are not something we sell.
Updates
We may change Nova to keep it safe, to follow the law, to fix bugs, because a provider changes, or to keep the app working. Those updates stay in the plan you paid; we do not charge extra for them. We do not use this clause to empty the product. If a change is a real worsening and you are a consumer in the EU, we say so on the site at least 30 days ahead. You can then leave at the end of the Polar period. Security, law, bug fixes, and updates needed to keep the app working do not wait those 30 days. Your statutory rights stay.
Feedback
If you send ideas or bug notes, we can use them to improve Nova, without paying you and without naming you unless you ask.
Abuse
Don’t use Nova to break the law or to harm other people. Don’t resell the app or share license keys. Don’t copy or reverse-engineer the app, unless mandatory law expressly allows it — for example a backup you need, or a narrow look for interoperability.
Warranty and liability
Polar is the seller for the purchase. Christoph is the licensor for the use of Nova. Statutory rights for defects stay. We do not limit liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health. For anything else, the cap is what you paid for this Nova licence in the last 12 months. If you bought lifetime, that one payment is the cap, even if it is older than 12 months. Nova is not legal, medical, professional, or safety-critical advice. Answers can be wrong. “As is” applies only as far as we may say that. Nothing here takes away consumer rights that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
Swiss law. If you are a consumer in the EU, that does not take away mandatory protection of the law where you live.
